Which apps does it work in?

In any app where you can type: VS Code and Cursor, Chrome and Safari, Word, Mail, WhatsApp, Slack, Notion and so on. Dettami writes wherever your cursor is.

Do I need an internet connection?

Not to transcribe: your voice becomes text on your computer. The connection is used for formatting with your AI, if you've added a key, and for your account. Without AI, Dettami formats on its own with its own rules.

Which languages does it support?

English and Italian.

Which computer do I need?

A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 26 or later, or a PC with 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. The voice model is downloaded once and stays on your computer: about 1.6 GB on a Mac, about 740 MB on Windows (886 MB if you choose Whisper on a PC with a graphics card).

Where does my voice go?

Nowhere: it's transcribed on your computer and the audio never leaves it. Only text goes to the cloud, and only if you've added an AI key — to the provider you chose. In password fields, nothing goes to the cloud and nothing is saved to history.

Do I need an AI key? How much does it cost?

No, Dettami works without one. With your own key (Gemini, Groq, Claude or ChatGPT) you get AI-polished text, prompts, per-app styles, Transforms and summaries. Gemini and Groq have free tiers; Claude and ChatGPT are billed by usage, directly by the provider.

What does the Prompt key do?

Hold Fn+P (Ctrl+Win+P on a PC) instead of Fn and say what you need (a tap on P is enough, even mid-sentence): instead of your sentence, Dettami writes a well-built prompt for the AI you're typing to — role, goal, method and the shape of the answer — and pastes it. You can change the keys in Settings. Your history keeps both what you said and the prompt. You can get there by voice too: select some text and say “turn this into a prompt”, or start with “write me a detailed prompt for…”. Writing it takes an AI key, or Claude Code with the Dettami skill.

Does it work with any AI?

Yes: the prompt is text, and you paste it wherever you like. Dettami looks at where you're typing and gives the prompt the shape that AI follows best: a work plan for agents in your editor or terminal, like Claude Code, Cursor or Codex; sections in XML tags for Claude; short headings for ChatGPT and Gemini; plain labelled sections anywhere else.

Can I use my Claude or ChatGPT subscription?

With Claude Code, yes: with the Dettami skill, Claude Code writes the prompt itself, in your session and on your subscription. Otherwise, no: Anthropic doesn't allow third-party apps to use their customers' Claude subscriptions, and OpenAI only opens sign-in with ChatGPT to a few partners. That's why Dettami uses your own API key — and Gemini and Groq have free tiers.

How does the free trial work?

You get 14 days of Pro, no card needed: you try everything, Pro features included. Then you pick: Base at €2.99 a month or €29.99 a year, Pro at €4.99 a month or €49.99 a year (+ VAT). If you don't subscribe, Dettami stops — and your data stays on your computer.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime, from the portal. Dettami keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Can I get an invoice for my company or team?

Yes. Teams are on Pro: one subscription and one invoice for everyone; Italian companies with a VAT number get an e-invoice through SdI. Shared glossary and snippets are included.

How does the referral work?
